Affordable Housing Development Underway At 30 West Str...

Construction is underway on 30 West Street, an all-affordable six-story housing development in Haverstraw, Rockland County. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Westhab, the 79,000-square-foot structure will yield 81 rental apartments in studio to three-bedroom layouts, including 20 supportive units for formerly homeless residents. The $53 million project will also include parking for approximately 142 vehicles, with 82 reserved for the community. The homes will be available for households earning ranging from 30 to 60 percent of the area median income (AMI). The property is bounded by West Street, Fairmount, and Maple Avenues.

Construction has broken ground on the second phase of Bartlett Crossing at 667 Flushing Avenue and 31 Bartlett Street in Broadway Triangle, Brooklyn. Designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning PC and developed by Unified Neighborhood Partners, the $71.5 million project will yield 78 affordable units across two nine-story buildings. The development is part of a larger masterplan that will deliver 390 permanently affordable apartments on formerly vacant city-owned land. The properties are located between Throop and Harrison Avenues.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Nevins Landing South, a 17-story mixed-use building at 417 Carroll Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Capital, the structure yields 306 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 80 units for residents at 40 to 100 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $37,269 to $210,400.
